The Provincial Tuberculosis Control Program is a part of the National Tuberculosis Control Program that implements goals and objectives pertaining to Tuberculosis control at provincial level following the DOTS strategies, logistic support and guidelines provided by National Tuberculosis Program in provinces. Nutrition Program Gilgit-Baltistan was launched in 2018 with the vision/mission to eradicate malnutrition in GB with cost of 175 million Pakistani rupees; under which Nutrition officers and staff nurses were appointed, trained and fully equipped (anthropometry tools, furniture for offices etc). The Expanded Programme on Immunization was launched in February 1983 in Gilgit Baltistan with the aim to protect the children from vaccine preventable diseases. Click here for more information

Provincial Disease Surveillance and Response Unit (PDSRU) was established in Health Department Gilgit-Baltistan to gather and analyze disease surveillance data from districts and periodically disseminate the epidemiological information to the relevant stakeholders in order to Identify/notify high priority communicable and non-communicable diseases of public health concern for event-based surveillance.
